Play for Change

a political skills program for girls & non-binary youth, taught through performing arts.

Home: Welcome

What is Play for Change?

what we do

We teach girls (cis and trans) and non-binary youth to be compassionate, educated, and confident political leaders. Taught through the performing arts, girls and non-binary youth will learn how to advocate for themselves and their communities, think on their feet, and use their creativity to create change. All programming will be virtual through the COVID-19 pandemic.

why girls & non-binary youth?

By the time most political leadership programs begin, most girls and non-binary youth have already been socialized to be disinterested in politics or lack the skills necessary to thrive and create in our political landscape. We want to hone the creative, necessary power of these young people, because we know they will change the world.

why it works

Politics is theatre. Storytelling, creative writing, script creation, improv, and visual art are all core elements of a successful, impactful political campaign. We will focus on these mediums to teach young people how to step into the next generation of political leadership.

She is also an award-winning storyteller, regularly performing with the Moth and in local theaters. She is excited to combine her skills & expertise to create Play for Change!
